life's great themes

it seems
talking straight
cuts through

remember
this time's
been coming

for years
did you listen
she speaks louder

for some
whispers sweet nothings
to lovers

now mother Earth's
had enough
she's coughin'

spewing more
and spreading
warnings so dire

in time perhaps
we'll understand
her helping hands

brought us here
to teach this story
no more glory

we the people
lost the way
living it up

not ready to pay
what it cost
to be sorry

don't change
your universe
eventually she does

for those remaining
the choice is clear
the song's the same
